Day 01Srinagar
Arrive Srinagar Airport and
check in to your Houseboat. Dinner & Over Night stay at Srinagar.
Day 02Srinagar - Sonmarg - Kargil
After early B/F, drive to
Kargil via Sonmarg. In Sonmarg one can take a pony ride (at own cost) to Thajiwas Glacier where snow remains round the year.
Later, drive down to Kargil. Upon arrival in Kargil, check in to your hotel.
Dinner & Over Night stay at Kargil.
Day 03Kargil - Rangdum
After B/F, drive towards
Rangdum. Rangdum Village is an elliptical expanded plateau that is situated
midway between Kargil and Padum. Located 130 Km south-east of Kargil, in the
beautiful Suru Valley in Leh District, Rangdum is surrounded by steep hills,
pastures, streams and rocky mountains. Upon arrival at Rangdum, check-in to
your Camp | Guest House. Dinner & Over Night stay at Rangdum.
Day 04Rangdum - Suru Valley - Padum
After B/F, drive to Padum – the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Zanskar. Padum (3505 m.) is the present day administrative headquarters of the region. On way to Padum, visit Sani Monastery, belongs to the southern branch of the Drukpa Kagyupa School. The Karsha Monastery of Ladakh is situated in the Karsha village of the Zanskar Region. After visiting Karsha, proceed further towards Bardan Gompa – a 17th Century Buddhist Monastery. Later, drive back to your Camp. Dinner & Over Night stay at the Padum.
Day 05Padum - Kargil
After B/F, check out from Camp
& drive down to Kargil. Dinner & Over Night stay at Kargil.
Day 06Kargil - Lamayuru - Shaam Valley
After B/F, drive to Uleytokpo | Tingmosgang. En-route, visit Lamayuru, belongs to Dripung Kagyu (Red Hat) like Phyang. The oldest structure in Lamayuru is the Singey Lhakhang built by the founder of Alchi Lotsava Rinchen bzangpo in 11th Century. After visiting Lamayuru, proceed further to Uleytokpo. En-route, visit Ridzong Gompa, known as the paradise for Meditation. Upon arrival, in Uleytokpo or Tingmosgang, check in your Camp for Dinner & Over Night Stay at Sham Valley.
Day 07Shaam Valley - Alchi - Basgo - Likir - Leh
After B/F, check-out from
the Shaam Valley Camp & visit Alchi Monastery and then drives to Leh.
En-route, visiting Basgo is certainly the most impressive of Ladakhi citadels
despite its ruined state, Likir Gompa situated atop a windy cliff top
overlooking the beautiful village of Likir and Confluence of The Indus and
Zanskar River just after 4 Km. from Nimmu and further to magnetic Hill which
defies the law of gravity. Upon arrival in Leh, check in to your hotel. Dinner
& Over Night stay at Leh.
Day 08Leh
After B/F, a day is at leisure to explore the destination on your own. In the evening, visit Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, Leh Market & Shankar Gompa. Dinner & Over Night stay at Leh.
Day 09Leh - Shey Palace - Thikse - Pangong Lake
After early B/F, check out from Leh & depart for Pangong Lake. En-route, visiting Shey Palace, The ancient capital of Ladakh & 3 Idiots Rancho School & Thiksey – an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village. After visiting two monasteries, drive further towards Changla Pass 5486 Mtrs. Later reach Pangong Lake (4,267 m). This famous blue brackish Lake of Pangong is 5/6 Km. wide and over 133 Km. long with half of its running the other side of the "Indo China Border". Upon arrival, check in to your Camp near Pangong Lake. Dinner & Over Night stay at Pangong Lake.
Day 10Pangong Lake - Hemis - Leh
After B/F, free time is at leisure to explore the beauty of lake. Later, drive back to Leh. En-route, visit to Hemis Gompa, the largest monastic foundation of Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel in Leh. In the evening, you can stroll around the marketplace for some last minute souvenir shopping. Dinner & Over Night stay at Leh.
Day 11Leh - Khardungla - Nubra Valley
After B/F, check out from Leh & drive to Nubra Valley. The road journey from Leh to Nubra Valley passes over Khardung La (The Highest Motor-able Road In The World) at 5,602 Mtrs. From the pass, one can see all the way south over the Indus valley to seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, and north to the giants of the Saser massif. Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldumra or the valley of flowers. Upon arrival in Nubra, check-in to your Camp. In the evening you can walk around the tiny villages to see how the locals live in this part of the world. Dinner and Over Night stay at Nubra Valley.
Day 12Nubra Valley - Hunder - Diskit - Leh
After early B/F, check out from the Camp and drive to Hunder where you have an opportunity to ride on a Bactrian Camel (double humped) amidst the sand dunes of this high altitude desert with snow-capped mountains on the horizon. On the return stop at Diskit which is the headquarter town of Nubra Valley. Stroll around the bazaar observing the shops and local people going about their daily chores. Diskit is famous for 515 years old Buddhist Monastery, lying magnificently situated on a hilltop, facing the entire Valley. Later, drive back to Leh & check in to your Hotel. Dinner & Over Night stay at Leh.
Day 13Leh - Onward Destination Journey
After B/F, check out from
Leh and transfer to Leh Airport to board flight departing for Mumbai.
